Library

Our library is a special place where students can fall in love with reading, discover new worlds, and learn how to care for books. In the library, we practice kindness and respect. Students are encouraged to take care of books, use quiet voices, and treat the library as a shared space for learning and imagination.

  • Library Time
The library is open daily from 8:30–1:15. Depending on the grade and teacher, students already have a schedule that allows them to visit 2–4 times a month with their class.
For our eager readers in 2nd–5th grade, the library is also open during Friday lunch/recess for extra visits. This way, students always have plenty of opportunities to return books they’ve finished and discover new ones!
  • Book Checkouts

    • Kinder–2nd grade: up to 2 books at a time

    • 3rd–5th grade: up to 3 books (sometimes 4 if the whole class is reading the same story)

    • Books are checked out for 2 weeks at a time. If a student needs more time with a book, I can always extend their return date so they can keep reading without worry.

  • Lost Books
  • No need to worry if a book goes missing, it’s usually just hiding! Check your car, backpack, or favorite reading spot. If it really is lost, please let me know and we’ll figure out the best solution together.
  • Damaged Books
Accidents happen! If a book is damaged, just pop it into a bag and return it to the library. Please don’t try to fix it yourself, I have special supplies to repair books when possible.
  • Overdue Books
If a book is overdue, students will need to return it before checking out something new. I always remind students gently and give them plenty of chances to bring their books back.
  • Birthday Book Club
Our library has a special way to celebrate students! Families can donate $20 for their child to choose a brand-new book for the library. The book will have a “Donated by” sticker with your child’s name, and they’ll receive a bookmark and a small treat. It’s a wonderful way to honor your child’s birthday while growing our library collection!
