At ICIA, our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program is designed to spark curiosity, encourage real-world problem solving skills, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. We believe that every student is an innovator and with hands-on approach, students will discover how STEAM shapes the world around them.
Our STEAM program is run by Mrs. Sibucao. With over 5 years of teaching experience and running a STEM lab on her own to TK through 6th grade, she has the knowledge and skills needed to run a STEAM program. Mrs. Sibucao partnered with Apple at California State University Dominguez Hills, where she learned more about Apple technology and how to incorporate it into lessons, and how to use and teach fabrication technology such as 3D printers and Vinyl Cutters. She facilitated workshops to both parents and teachers about certain topics or curriculum. During her time at CSUDH, she enrolled in Computer Science Introductory Supplementary Authorization to be added to her Multiple Subject credential to teach students (3rd - 8th) the basics of coding such as using Scratch, Swift and learning the Python language.
Mrs. Nikki Sibucao

Mrs. Sibucao will be using Project Lead the Way to all grade levels. PLTW offers STEM curriculum and professional development for educators with a focus on hands-on, real-world learning. During the students' time in STEAM, they will learn not only science concepts but engineering concepts by utilizing the engineering design process to invent something that is geared towards a problem from the lessons. On top of PLTW, Mrs. Sibucao will also incorporate lessons such as coding, sewing, 3D printing and much more during the transition between PLTW modules.
Our STEAM program prepares students for a rapidly changing world by building the skills and confidence they need to succeed in future academic and career pathways. Whether they’re designing an App prototype, programming a robot, or exploring scientific phenomena, students learn that the possibilities in STEAM are endless!
