Meet Our New Teachers

You’ve probably noticed some new faces around campus, so let’s put some names to those faces. Dragon families, please help us give a warm welcome to our new team members for the school year!

(Left to right, back row) - Dr. Juan Grajales is our 6th-grade teacher. Dr. G holds a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has a Master's in Teaching and a multiple-subject credential from Chapman University, and has also earned a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. He is in his 7th year of teaching.

Anita Wang is our 2nd-grade Mandarin teacher. Ms. Wang holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and Bilingual Authorization in Mandarin from the University of California, Irvine. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Liberal Studies from the University of California, Riverside. 

Lily Li is our 1st grade-Mandarin teacher. Ms. Li holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education. She has previously served as first-grade teacher, substitute teacher, student teacher, instructional assistant, and lead teacher in both public school districts and Chinese immersion programs.

Susan Tu is our TK teacher. Ms. Tu holds a Master of Arts in Foreign Language Teaching from Michigan State University. She is IB certified and comes to us with 2 decades of experience in education, most recently with the Silicon Valley International School. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education from the Taipei National University of the Arts.

Cynthia Chang is our Teacher on Special Assignment and our 6th grade teacher. Ms. Chang holds a M.A. in Educational Technology from National University, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSUN, and a B.A. in Business Administration from National Chiao Tung University. She also has a BCLAD Mandarin authorization. Previously, she spent 13 years teaching in the Mandarin Immersion Program at the Capistrano Unified School District.

Huining Zhang is our 3rd-grade Mandarin teacher. She has a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University. Ms. Zhang brings 5 years of classroom teaching experience to this role.

(Left to right, front row) - Edyth Duan is our 1st-grade Mandarin teacher. Ms. Duan earned her Teacher’s Credential at California State University Long Beach. She also has a Master’s in Public Policy from UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Nanjing University.

Anastasiia Dovhal is our TK teacher. Ms. Dovhal holds a Master’s degree in Russian/English/Chinese Translation from Shanghai International Studies University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese language, literature, and translation from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She received her teaching credential and BCLAD from CSULB. She has been with ICIA since we opened in 2023.

Dani Judilla is our TK and Kindergarten English teacher. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University. She previously worked as a Transitional Kindergarten teacher at Bernard Mandarin Magnet Elementary in San Diego Unified. 

Annie Chi is our 1st-grade Mandarin teacher. Ms. Chi has a Master’s of Arts in Education from Claremont Graduate University, as well as a Bachelor's in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine. She previously spent 13 years teaching at Capistrano Unified’s Mandarin Immersion program.

Janice Zhu is our Education Specialist. Ms. Zhu earned a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health Studies from the University of Toronto. During her graduate studies, she taught students in both elementary and high school settings.

Mia Xue is our Kindergarten Mandarin teacher. Ms. Xue holds a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in English Education. She completed her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Mandarin Bilingual Authorization at California State University, Long Beach. She has about five years of teaching experience in both China and the US.

(Not pictured) Jessica Donaldson is our School Psychologist. Ms. Donaldson holds a Ed.S in School Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, a BA in Liberal Studies and Special Education from California State University, Fullerton, and an AA in Child and Adolescent Development from Foothill College. She previously served as a school psychology intern, substitute teacher, instructional assistant, and ABA therapist in public school and clinical settings.
